Answer: A Crushed Stroller

Question: What happens when a lack of sleep, a cold, a van and a stroller collide?

Daily Picture: The Crushed Stroller

Well today after picking up 4yo at preschool along with a friend of his we played at the park at the school for a while.  Afterwards we headed back to the van to go home for lunch.  I took the baby out of the stroller and put it a side while I put him in his car seat.  I then made sure 4yo and his friend we in right since heavy coats make it difficult for little hands.  Once the boys were settled I got in the van and backed out turning out of the space when I heard a CRUNCH!  I stopped knowing exactly what had happened.  I left the stroller out and ran it over with the van.  My cheap $10.00 umbrella stroller that made it through my older boys was crushed.  More then 8 years of abuse by the kids and it ends with me running it over...  Afterwards I phoned the wife and she laughed at me for my folly...

Another Sleepless Night.

The baby had his shots yesterday so he had a restless night.  The wife was going to get him since I took the brunt the night before.  Well he woke up and was screaming at the top of his lungs and after an hour we gave up and I went for another late night drive to settle him.  If it was warmer I would just do a walk around the block, but the weather is not on our side.  So two nights in a row I have had very little sleep and I have a cold kicking my butt.  Oh the joys...

The Cold Kicking my Butt

I had what I thought was a slight cold last week with some other issues.  Well that turned into a full blown kick my in the head cold that is driving me nuts.  Granted if I slept more then 4 hours a night I would be in better shape.  Need to talk to the 9mo about that...

"The 5"

  1. Election Day- It is closing in and I hope everyone out there goes and votes.  Whatever your choice, make one.  That is as political as I will get on my blog.

  2. Daytime House Call- Well this cold has been kicking my butt and this afternoon when the baby went down for a nap I planned an hour of rest...  I was watching a little Tivo'd TV and beginning to dose when the doorbell rang.  Of course the timing was fantastic.  I did not have an deliveries due those arrived already...  I get to the door and I was told about Gods work and asked if I had some time.  I was polite and wished her on her way.  I guess I was not meant to nap.

  3. FEDEX Box - I have a project I am going to help out on for work.  It is some data entry into a spread sheet that will eventually be converted and loaded into our software, but the system is not ready yet.  In the mean time we need to key in a whole bunch of information.  So yesterday the office said they were sending me some information.  I figured it would be an email, nope... A LARGE  FEDEX box full of paper.  Sitting on my shelf it is about as tall as two reams of paper.  Just a little work...

  4. The Shield - 4 more episodes left before it ends.  It has been an amazing run and will be sad to see it go.  They are hopefully leading up to a major shocker at the end.  I remember when I watched the premier episode years ago now and got the shock seeing Vic kill another cop.  Will Vic get it in the end?  Will he get salvation? Who will kill Shane?  All these questions and more will be answered on the next episode of SOAP... um The shield.

  5. Robo Calls- I hate them... Political calls, credit company calls... I hate them.  My new major one to hate is the "Don't be alarmed there is important information about your credit card... And how you can lower your rates..."  yeah your robo calls are going to make me want to vote for you, buy your product or get ripped off by your credit scam... Go Away Robo calls

The Cold Strikes Back

Daily Picture: 8yo Fish

8yo has been enjoying swim team again and is starting to get back into form after a few months off.  He is still better at the butterfly and breast stroke then freestyle and back stroke.

Too Many Days Off

Monday and Tuesday 8yo was off of school again.  I am pretty sure there are only a few times in the school year where they have back to back full weeks.  There is always a day off or a half day.  I am pretty sure this is not for the parents or students and if I were not at home it wouldkill any chance at vacation time for a family with two working parents.  I guess it could be worse one of the other local schools rather then having all the days off has late arrival every Friday.  That would be a total nightmare, trying to make sure my oldest was on the bus while getting 4yo to preschool.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Today was the parent teacher conference for my 8yo.  I actually stayed home this time since I have a major cold and 4yo and baby are not feeling well either.  During the meeting a few things came up such as his really good behavior in school how he excels at his work and how all around he is a good kid.  The wife did bring up the point that he will take the pathof least resistance. So she will work a little bit to make him work harder.  Overall the wife was rather happy about with the conference.

9 Month Appointment and Shots

The baby had his 9 Monthappointment today and of course some shots to go with it.  He is in the 20% in weight and 80% in height with his head at 97%.  Tall Skinny and a big head... He is going to probably have a rough day tomorrow still recovering from the ear infection and now having sore legs from the shots.

Long Night

Last night the baby was up 4 times which made my night rather long.  Funny thing is the wife woke up this morning and she said the baby did well only getting up once.  Actually he got up 4 times and after struggling with the 4th time I passed him on to her.  She was apparently really tired last night.

Football is Over

I missed the last game, but the wife and my father made it.  They lost in a hard fought game and even though they lost they had a great game.  Now that the seaosn is over I will not be on the field so long 3 nights a week.  Just at the pool for an hour 3 afternoons a week.  I am sad in a way it is over, since I am pretty sure he will not play again.  He wanted to play, but I do not think football is his sport.  Now I would not be suprised to see 4yo out there in a couple years knocking heads.  This Saturday we return the gear and there will be a couple parties to go to in the coming weeks so it is really not over.

The 5

  1. Lack of Sleep- Worth my cold and whatever else it is really hard to recover when you can not get any sleep.  I just hope baby gets better soon so we can all get some rest

  2. Facebook- I like it much better then myspam... My Space.  I have a myspace page,, but get spams all the time...  So far it has worked out well

  3. Laptops Rock- Blogging with my feet up comfortable in bed rocks.  I have been under the weather so staying warm and comfortable is a plus

  4. Heroes-I think the 3rd season has Jumped the shark.  They are doing way too much and trying to be too many things.  If it does not turn around this could be the beginning of the end.

  5. SNOW!- We had some flurries yesterday... It is still October and there is SNOW!!!  Granted I can not wait to see the puppy the first time he sees real snow

Project 182

It's Monday again and time get lose the clothes and get on the scale.  I was disappointed last week, but I knew I would struggle since I had a couple bad days.  This week on the other hand not only did I keep to my diet, but I had some stomach virus making food the last thing I wanted.  I did have some sodas and a whole bunch of carbs so it may have been a wash with no real extra amount due to being sick.  So today I hit that 7 pound mark after I have been told by my lovely wife my face has thinned out a bit.  I am looking forward to the 10 and 15 pound marks since I am sure some of my pants will begin to fit much better.  I know when I hit the 20 pound mark many of my pants will be too big, won't that be nice.  So since October 1st I have dropped 7 pounds and have about 156 days more to go.  I am basically right on schedule with my average loss a little more the 1.8 pounds a week. (1.93 is the overall average to make my goal weight on time)

Another week begins and I am going to try to work extra hard to make sure I keep to my goals...

The Stats.
  • Weekly Weight Loss: 2 Pounds

  • Overall Weight Loss: 7 Pounds

  • Starting Weight:270

  • Current Weight:263

  • Time Left: 156 Days

Flu Shot Ambush and a Double Ear Infection

Daily Picture: The Proper way to fall asleep on a recliner.

    Flu Shot Ambush

On Monday I took the boys to get Flu Shots.  8yo and 4yo that is.   8yo knew what we were up, but I told 4yo we had to take his older brother to the Doctor.  4yo freaks if he knows he is getting shots so it was important to keep him in the dark.  Once we arrived at their Doctors office I let the Nurse Practitioner know 4yo did not know what was up.  As we got in the room she was preparing everything and I told him I was just going to put him on the table and the nurse wanted to see his arm.  "OK" he replied all innocent.  The nurse had a wipe in her hand and rubbed to area really quickly.  "What are you doing" he asked her rather puzzled.  Well she said "I am cleaning your arm and then I am going to stick you and you will scream"  before he could react she stuck his arm, he screamed and the shot was over.   The look of shot and betrayal was unreal.  It worked once, but I am sure it will never work again...

Baby with a Cold and Double Ear Infection

We have all had colds except 8yo this past week or so.  With vaporizers running and everyone trying to get over it the house has been a clinic.  Well babies cold quickly turned into ear infections and last night the wife and I each might have had a couple hours sleep.  Called the Doctor this morning and headed out for the SECOND time this week.  Got there and sure enough the little guy has the ear infection and is now on antibiotics.  I just hope he can get some sleep tonight so we can all sleep.  Being so little and being in that much pain has to stink big time.  On his way to feeling better....

    "The 5"

    1. The Force Unleashed- Audio Book that is.  It is currently loaded up on the iPod and it is actually a pretty good story.  I then loaded it up on my old iPod shuffle for 8yo to listen to.

    2. Old PC Games - While at my friends last week I noticed he still had a ton of old PC games floating around.  Well Fallout & Fallout 2 were in there so I thought since the third is do out soon that would be fun.  They loaded and work well, but wow are they dated.  When I loaded the game it asked if I wanted the "Monster" installation of 400 MB...

    3. Lego Indiana Jones - I have been playing it off and on to clear levels so 8yo can play them free play.  He did awesome with the Star Wars ones, but the Story mode for this one has him stumped.

    4. The Shield - coming to an end soon and has really been good.  No performances like Forrest Whitaker or Glen Close but still top notch.  In the end will Vic Get It?

    5. Doctor Who- The next season starts in a couple weeks.  Then there will be a LONG time before another season since they are filming TV Movies and Specials and will not start on the 5th season until 2010 which means we might get it by November 2010... DOH!!!

    Another Monday is Here Already.

    Project 182

Well another Monday brings another morning of getting naked and standing on the scale.  The week was a little rough with Tuesday going to lunch with the wife and festival this weekend.  In the end I dropped another pound this week which puts the total at 5 pounds since October first.  I am beyond that dreaded two week mark which has always been difficult for me and now my next benchmark is the 10 pound mark.  So hopefully by weigh in on November 10th I will have dropped that additional 5 pounds.  With the holidays coming up it will be difficult, but at the same time if I am good and do not put on the typical holiday weight everything will be better.

  • Daily Picture(s) What my wife did to 8yo...

Well yesterday was haircut day for the boys.  The wife was settling the baby so I cut 4yo's hair and he was actually a perfect little boy for the cut.  He even let me shape the edges and trim him up nicely.  We normally use a # 2 clipper guide on the boys and the wife has been cutting their hair for a while because 4yo had a phase of hating getting his hair cut and only mommy could do it.  After I cut 4yo's hair and got him in the shower it was time for 8yo and the wife was back and said she would cut his.  I leave and moments later my wife comes out with her hand over her mouth and a little "upset"  She forgot to put the guide on the clippers and cut a line straight down the center of 8yo's head.  So now he has this line really short down his head from front to back.  Well the only thing I could do was clip the rest off to make it match the line down the center.  I told him it was the perfect swimmers haircut and he would now go faster in the pool.  He was a bit concerned this morning and wanted to wear a hat all day so we sent a note to his teacher about the situation.  I just hope all goes well at school today.  The wife will never be able to live this one down...

    Saturday Bantam Football...

Saturday was our last regular season game and it was a big one.  Going in we were 3-3 we lost two really close games.  Well kickoff was at 11:00 and the sun was shinningwith only a hint of cold in the air making it a great day for football.  We kicked off and the T-Wolves were able to drive the ball all the way down and score.  Our first play from scrimmage was a 60+ yard TD run.  We scored, they scored, we scored they scored and so on.  In the 4th quarter with a little over a minute to go we took the lead 36 - 32.  We were unable to make any point afters so we had a 4 point lead.  On the lick off we stopped them pretty deep for he bantam level.  They ran the ball gained a bunch, called a time out, ran the ball gained a little and we kept them in bounds they called their last time out.  With the ball on the 50 they ran a reverse, but our boys chased him down and tackled him before he got out of bounds or scored.  We were able to hang on to our lead and win.  There were no turnovers, no punts and no turnover on downs.  Every offensive series resulted in a touchdown.

    McHenry Trail of History

We went to a local Conservation District Festival Trail Of History.  The Trail of History is a living history interpretive event. Interpreters from across the country portray and demonstrate life as it was from 1670 – 1850 in the former Northwest Territory which encompasses present day Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and portions of eastern Minnesota. The event’s focus is to show the interrelationship between nature, man and cultural development.  8yo really enjoyed the festival and loves this kind of thing.  He spent a good long while watching the blacksmiths.  We did get a few treats at the fest including rock candy, kettle corn and homemade old fashioned Root Beer.   The root beer was worth the trip.  We ended up walking a few miles since the main portion of the event was about a mile down the trail through a forest preserve with a bunch of hills.  4yo and 8yo had a blast racing up and down the hills.

    Friends In Town

Some friends came into town this weekend so "The boys" got together and Wii Bowled.  We had a good time bowling, playing tennis and just chatting again.  The host house however held an evil force that was unstoppable.  The force... Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies... Fresh from the oven!!!  My friends wife is trying to make Project 182 more difficult... The cookies were really, really good however...

    "The 5"

    1. Happy Birthday Andy - One of my really good friends turns 35 today just like the rest of the group.  happy Birthday My friend!!!

    2. Da Bears- The Bears scored 48 points in the wild victory over the Vikings.  8yo's football coach is a Vikesfan and had a bet with many of the Bear Fan Dads...  Loser has to wear Jersey from other team.  He lost and has to wear a Bears Jersey all week at practice...

    3. Plantar fasciitis - Another thing bugging me.  I self diagnosed, but will probably have to visit my Doctor.  Just what I need more issues...

    4. Movie Jackpot - Stopped by the Library this morning and found Iron Man and Indiana Jones IV...

    5. Colds All Around - We all have colds in different stages right now which has made our house an interesting place to be.

    Another Monday is Here Already.

Swim Team and Too Much Driving...

Well this week was a big adjustment for everyone with swimming starting for 8yo as well as football still going.  There is a two week overlap so this week and next week will be extremely busy.  Football is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and Swimming is Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  We can not be in two places at once so Mondays are football and not swimming.  Monday was the first practice and 8yo got right back into the "Swim" of things since football had been cancelled.  Wednesday was practice and "Tryouts" for anyone that has not been on the team already.  In the winter there are only so many spots since space is somewhat limited.  The 8 and unders typically do not have to try out so to speak, but just have to be able to not sink.  Unfortunately this time however there were way too many new kids and some spots had to close.  there were over 30 new 8 and unders and less then half made it.  It is tough, but time and space are an issue in the winter.  In the summer there are three practice times and two teams, but in the winter only two practice times and one team.  It is rough having someone under 8 get cut...  I think if 8yo had waited until this winter that he would not have made it.

With swimming and preschool I spent way to much time driving today.  The trip to and from preschool twice is enough driving for me in a day, but add another trip just as long and it makes for a bit of driving.  Unfortunatley I will be doing this Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until March... Ouch...

    "The 5"

    1. Puppy time- Well the little fur ball is getting bigger and getting into more trouble.  He actually is listening vey well and for the most part is a really well behavied dog.  If you don't count pulling the ignition wire off my grill, taking out a few Halloween decorations and of course killing two NUKs...

    2. Too Sore - I have a bit of arthritis in my feet and ankles and lately it has been really rough.

    3. Cough and Cold- 4yo and I both have a bit of a cough and cold.  We sound like a wonderful pair in the morning when we get up.

    4.  Castle Crashers- 8yo and I have still been having a blast with the XBOX 360 Arcade Game.  It is a silly, goofy oddball adventure that is hard to put down.

    5. Friends in Town - Some friends of the family are in town for the weekend.  It will be nice to see them again.

    Project 182

Is still going well, but on Tuesday and Today I was a little lax... Still doing great and hopefully when I lose the weight it will help my arthritis...

    13 Wonderful Years...

Well today the wife and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary.  13 years,3 kids, 4 dogs and 2 houses is a lot of math.  We started the day with a special treat for both of us... (Keep it clean thank you) we went to the doctor and got our Flu Shots.  Did you know that the 13th wedding anniversary is not really the Lace Anniversary, but is the Flu Shot Anniversary.  The wife took today off so we could get the shots and have lunch out together.  Our grand lunch was taking the younger boys to Portillos for some Dogs and Beef...  So much for my Diet today...  Since she was around all day we were able to get a few other things done.  The to due list just got shorter!!!

    13 years by the numbers

    1. 1995 - The year we were married

    2. 22 - The age we were when we got married.

    3. 35 - The age we are now, for those of you with poor math skills

    4. 4745 - The number of days we have been married.

    5. 1825 - The number of days we were married before we had kids.

    6. 3 - The number of children we have

    7. 4 - The number of dogs we have had. (Currently 2)

    8. 5 - The number of cars we have had

    9. 22,500 - Estimated Diapers we have changed.

    10. 2 - The number of house we have bought

    11. 8 - The number of companies we have worked for. (3 her, 5 Me)

    12. 12 - The number of kids birthday's Celebrated

    Project 182 (170 Days Left)

    Project 182

Well today was my second weigh in and everything seems to be going to plan.  Last week was tough, but by the end of this week I will be beyond the 2 week marker which has always been a major benchmark for me.  I just hope I can get a good few weeks in and stay on track.

    • Weekly Weight Loss: 2 Pounds

    • Overall Weight Loss: 4 Pounds

    • Starting Weight:270

    • Current Weight:266

    _______________________________________________________________________________________

    "The 5"

    1. Swim Team - Today was the first day of swim practice and the first of two weeks of overlap with football.  Normally it would be football night, but because they had such a great game on Saturday they decided the kids should have a break.  Granted 3 of them were at swimming tonight...

    2. Da Bears- The end of the game against Atlanta was unreal.  They came from behind and appeared to have it with 12 seconds left... A long pass, 1 second and a field goal killed the win for the Bears.  As a Bears fan it sucked... As a football fan it was an amazing final 5 minutes...

    3. Work - Had a bunch of that last week.  I normally work from home about 24 hours a week, but last week I clocked in more the double that...  Most of it Wednesday, Thursday, Friday...  It proves to me that when I do go back to full time it will be a lot to balance.

    4. Castle Crashers- An XBOX Live Arcade game that is a total riot.  My kid brother recommened it and after playing the online demo 8yo and I had to get it.  What a BLAST!!!

    5. Car Movie Cars- Well 4yo loves his cars and especially the ones from the Pixar Movie.  The rule is if we are out and there is one he does not have we will pick it up.  They are actually hard to come by and he has most of them.  Well recently a whole batch has come out and were are 3 for 3 on 3 packs at the store.  The last 3 stops at the store we have found 3 packs of ones he does not have.  The racing teams...  Today.. "Shinny Wax"  Kind of biting me in the butt so to speak.  We went MONTHS without any and all of a sudden a bunch.

    The Week in Review.

With how much work I have had to do it has been difficult to breath much alone blog.  It is rare I have so much to do in so little time, but when it does happen I need to get it done.  24 hours is my normal week and it is really managable with my At Home Dad responsibilities.  I typically work during naptime and after the wife gets home.  There will be a time in the coming months however where I will be working about 40 hours a week and at that point I will have to have some creative planning.

    Saturday Warrior Football.

Saturday was our "Home Coming Game" and we beat a neighboring team 20-0.  The score did not reflect how well we played, because after we got that lead which was rather early we stopped giving it to our really good running backs and let everyone get a shot.  The backup QB was even in for a long while.  On a bad note during one play while my son was on Defense a really big kid grabbed him by his shoulder pads spun him around and threw him a few feet to the ground were he got hurt.  This was in front of the ref and he did not call it.  I was working chains and almost lost it... I bit my tongue as my son lay on the ground with a bruised knee.  It was a really nice by the next day.  This is the same ref that called nothing during the game we almost walked off the field on...

    Fright Fest

We stopped by Six Flag Great America for Fright Fest on Sunday.  The weather was amazing and decided it would be fun for the boys.  It was REALLY crowded, but luckily the rides they wanted the most were not crazy busy.  All the Big Coasters had MAJOR lines.  We also noticed when we entered the park there was a TON of day passes and very few Season Passes being used.  The kids had a good time and I will try to take 8yo after dark one day for a few rides and to see everything.  4yo would freak out so he will be at home...

Tomorrow is our 13th Wedding Anniversary... Special Post Tomorrow...

    Work Deadline Has Me Busy

Well I work for a software company from home which really helps our bottom line.  Normally I work about 4 hours a day, but I have had a major project due with a deadline of Monday October 13th...  The amount of work and time I need to put into it is more then 2 weeks work for me so I have had little time to do anything else.  Once in a great while I have a deadline like this, but it does not bother me since my job is fantastic and allows me to be home with the kids.

Monday and Tuesday I will be off from all work so I will be writing then.  Plus Tuesday is our wedding anniversary... 13 years...

So hold tight I will be back at it no later the Monday...

Mondays, Weight Loss and Baby Teeth

    Project 182

I had planned on doing an official weigh in next Monday after more then a full week, but this morning the scale was calling to me.  So this morning on Day 6 I decided to bite the bullet and see what I weigh.

    Weight Loss: 2 Pounds

This was nice to see, but I know the first few weeks will see a bigger drop then any other time.  It is a start and only 48 more to go and 176 more days to do it in.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    "The 5"

    1. Da Bears - The Bears won again and Kyle Orton looked really good on the field.  Graned it was against the Lions, but take what you can get.

    2. Bad Night - Baby had a rough night again and he has been teething.  I just hope he gets through this a little easier for all our sakes.

    3. Hooded Sweat Shirt- I FINALLY found one that "Fits"  I have monkey arms and a long torso so finding the right one is taught.  I tried a whole bunch of XLT's on, but the arms were all short.  Today at Kohls I found a 2XL NOT "T" that had SUPER long arms.  It is a bit baggy being a 2XL, but I can live with that.

    4. Swim Meeting - Tonight while 8yo was at football there was a parent coaches meeting for swimming.  Nothing really big on news other then a NEW suit which means last years that is perfectly good is NO GOOD for meets... I hate that...  Last years will be his practice suit I guess.

    5. Face Book - Been getting a bunch of people hitting me up.  I still do not like the look of the pages, but they do help keep people in touch.

    Saturday Bantam Football

8yo and I had another early morning since we had to get out of the house by 7:00 to drive an hour for a game.  The wife and other boys stayed home since the drive and game would make for a difficult morning for the baby.  The game was fantastic and all our boys player their hearts out.  We won 14-6 which was actually two touchdowns with no points after and a SAFETY!!!  They had some amazing Defensive stands that kept the other team out of the end zone.  All the kids were involved and on defense they were TEAM tackling!!!

    Yard Work

After the game I spent the afternoon in the yard cutting back plants for the year.  It needs to be done, but what a pain in the butt.

    Sunday Bears Win

I had a ton of house stuff to do and the Wife, 8yo and Baby went shopping.  So 4yo and I had the family room TV and the Master bedroom TV on so as I worked between floors I could still catch the game.  I never just get to sit and watch the game, always multitasking.

    VERY LONG MONDAY...

With preschool, shopping and football I was home today less the two hours.  This made it difficult to get anything done, but I have decided the next couple Mondays will just have to be a wash so I can get everything that needs to get done complete.  Soon there will be much shorter practices when 8yo is done with football and swimming starts.

    Just the Boys Tonight.

    "The 5"

    1. Four Letter Word - With my project 182 in full swing that evil four letter word "Diet" keeps coming up.  I am focusing on a LONG term solution and not a crash diet...

    2. Face Book - I have updated my face book page and if you want to be my friend I am HERE... Just send me a note with it so I know whats going on.

    3. Star Wars Clone Wars Tv Show - The boys and I had a good time watching that tonight.  Will be tough with 30 minutes a week... It won't be long though before the show exceeds the entire lenghth of all the movies.

    4. Wife Out - The wife went out with a friend she has not seen in a while and then will see a coworker preform Improve.  She deserves to get out more...

    5. Early Football game Part II - Tomorrow we have to be at an away field about a hour from the house at 8:00 am for a 9:00 am game... Long morning for a Saturday.

    Just the Boys...

Well the wife came home and saw us for a short while and then went out to dinner with a friend she has not seen in a while. (HI HS!) After dinner they are watching a coworker of the wife's do some improve comedy.  They should have a really good time and deserve a girls night out.  So the boys and I were on our own tonight which is a bit different.  We are used to it being just the guys during the day, but at night not so much.  I was actually suprised that the boys settled really well tonight and only had a few outbreaks.  Now all three are in bed, the puppy is in his crate for a while and the older dog is passed out in the babies room.  How long before this piece is gone!  Heck I might actually get a peaceful shower!

"I hate The Stairs!!!" as shouted by 8yo after tripping a 3rd time!  I kept telling him he has to watch out the stairs move when you are not looking... They do that to me all the time.

AHHHHH!!!! Gandalf ate the Butterfly!!! AHHHHHH!!!! as shouted by 4yo as he came in after letting one of his many bug catches go.  He likes to catch and release and waits until the evening to let them go.  Well the puppy went out with him and when he let the tiny Butterfly go the puppy caught it and ate it to the absolute HORROR of the 4yo...  He was so upset and so mad!

    What is Project 182???

What is Project 182?  In my many attempts to remain focused on a goal I have created an online project to track my progress and keep me motivated.  So what is my goal?  Well to lose weight of course.  I have given myself 182 days to lose at least 50 pounds.  Thats a big number you might be saying, but not when you are over weight by 50 pounds and 6' 3" tall with a big head to boot...  My "ideal" weight according to the charts is between 180-200 pounds, but my comfortable and realistc weight is more around 220.  If you do that math I am currently about 270.  A week from Monday I will be doing an official weigh in and every Monday from that point on will be my Project 182 post with a picture of the scale to keep me honest and motivated.  Why a week from Monday?  Well this gives me a little time to organize everything and get into the the weight loss grove.  I have lost more then 50 pounds before, but after 4 years of stress and a few big injuries I put it all back on.  No more excuses... Time for me to get the weight off...
